I want Dean to primary Obama

I hope he does because Barack is constricted by his polarization of the electorate and with his nascent blessing I can see it happening and he's gonna give the DC crowd the one finger salute and move on and I do not blame him in the least. The relay race has begun...

Ho Ho Ho!

Dear Dave,
I just got the following email (and photo) from my sister. I believe the photo speaks for itself.
"One of our neighbors apparently decided to get into the Christmas spirit and decorated their palm tree . . . they obviously didn't look at it carefully before they lit it up! Their son (our daughter's friend) pointed out the "problem" and the lights promptly went out! It was definitely good for a laugh!
Feliz Navidad!"
My husband’s comment (after he stopped laughing) was: “Well, it’s clearly not circumcised.”
Happy Holidays,

This is a big fucking deal

I am just amazed at this. Is this what we want for our fellows ??????????

I am only going to say this once

Ideology is personal and will act as any seasoning will when one is a politician and legislator, add to much and it spoils the meal.

Assange is Dr. Evil

So even if he's arrested and killed, or both he's set it up so all of his work gets known.

Let Us Not Forget, Again

Immigrants are the fertilizer that grow our country in many ways. They provide new ways to see things and point out that when we become complacent about our citizenship and what it should provide, they are just happy to be here and provide a benchmark on what being an American is and provides.

Let Us Not Forget

Do You believe that these women will speak up for the folks in Ireland?

Well, the Dixie Chicks got punched in the gut by the previous administration and their cohorts for speaking the truth and probably will never recover.

It's just who gets hurt that matters to me.

DC Police Stand Down To Rising Gang Violence

The gang violence in the District of Columbia is at an all time high with the Red's and the Blue's fighting it out with political gang fights where the wounded and victorious seeking their safe havens in separate locations.

The Red's go to the studios of Fox News to suave their wounds and have a complete and sympathetic group of television people who cure their wounds with lies and deception along with the best political health care money can buy.

The Blue's slink away from their political battles on their own and are left on their own to heal their wounds in private residences of sympathetic and middle class families who do their best to make them whole and send them back into tomorrows battle.

What is odd is that is that there is a large group of people who have either average or less than average income rooting for the Red's to win when these same Reds have a history of attacking and injuring these same middle to low income people.

Maybe low income equates to winning lotteries and "hoping" for a better life or, hell I've not figured that one out. Any suggestions?

I believe that the reason Barack selected and has kept Bernanke .Geitner and others associated with Goldman close is he and his counsel want to be on the right side of history when this whole MBS thing sugars off. The Seasons Of Politics

Political seasons come almost in predictable order and sometimes the winters are cold and snowy full of ice storms at beginning and end when the ice (political ads) makes voters slip one way or another.

So goes the seasons of political seasons.

Every winter depending on your age and your sport (political affiliation) you pray for snow or none and every summer you hope to enjoy as much sun as you can stand in hope of getting the tan you desire and the weather to enjoy your sport of choosing and in the end your personal hopes have the same odds getting your way politically as you get with the weather. You compromise every day with the weather and you also compromise every day with your hopes politically.

It is going to rain and rain hard tomorrow in America but I was not looking for it to be 85 degrees and sunny here in the Adirondacks in November and if there was anyone who would give that forecast it would be a politician.

Husband confronts anti-abortion activists
By The Rachel Maddow Show
Mon Oct 25, 2010 3:29 PM EDT

The Good Men Project has a great piece by Aaron Gouveia where he writes about his experience confronting anti-abortion activists and catching the confrontation on video.

He and his 16-weeks-pregnant wife went to a women's clinic in Brookline, Mass. for an abortion after discovering that their baby had a congenital deformity with no chance for survival. On their way in, they were confronted by images of dismembered fetuses and two women yelling, "You're killing your unborn baby!" Enraged, Gouveia decided to confront the protesters while his wife was in surgery, and he caught the whole interaction on his cellphone. (H/T to's Tracy Clark-Fiory and Steve Cooks for the link)

Just like NASCAR in a mirror

The way I see it is that the Republicans have a problem on their hands. They have attracted a base of voters who love turning right and were any of their elected officials and those up for election to even move the wheel slightly to the left. are to be left by the roadside in favor of a new driver who only knows how to turn the wheel even further right. But at some point the wheel will only go so far right and they will find themselves far away from those that drive down the road of life navigating by turning both left and right to navigate life's road.

Taking care of yourself and your home

It is so sad that many people have no awareness of their own surroundings and the relationship of their homes to whatever waterways around them.

Heck, if it was forecast that my town was going to get up to 10" of rain I'd be thinking of the impact and I live on a high point on the side of a hill.

Apparently these folks were not.

Look the way Obama see the world is he was elected the POTUS for all Americans. Not just Democrats and no one gets all they wish for. He's alluding to Democrats and Independenents and Republicans also that he is everyones president.

When the rubber meets the raod it is the votes that count so don't believe the bullshit about an unmotivated Democratic Party. If you want more of what he provided in the first 2 years then get your ass of the couch and VOTE this November.

We have more to lose than the Republicans. They are provided nothing by their party other than hate, bigotry well you know what I'm sayin'.

We have an honest and caring man in the White House trying his damdest to get things done and it is our RESPONSIBILTY to the representatives that will asssit him in advancing our agenda to get them either elected or reelcted. Quite the whining and just go vote November 12th.

Demensional Politics

Here's the way I see it, The republicans want to regain power and have the media and corporations on their side and Barack is baiting the trail into a box canyon for them to govern from. You want power and control, where here it is, now govern with all your crazy, unhinged voters. I'll sit here in the White House waiting to see how you do. When you are done in a few years when I am up for reelection in 2012 I will have exposed the tainted Democrats that sided with you crazy folks and now the rubber meets the road.

Voting Patterns of Middle East Countries in the U.N.

We have to be the most stupid nation on earth!! Well at least proven by recent polls. Time to flush out all 535 members of Congress!!!!!

Un-Bloody believable!

How they vote in the United Nations:

Below are the actual voting records of various Arabic/Islamic States
which are recorded in both the US State Department and United Nations records:

Kuwait votes against the United States 67% of the time

Qatar votes against the United States 67% of the time

Morocco votes against the United States 70% of the time

United Arab Emirates votes against the U. S. 70% of the time.

Jordan votes against the United States 71% of the time.

Tunisia votes against the United States 71% of the time.

Saudi Arabia votes against the United States 73% of the time.

Yemen votes against the United States 74% of the time.

Algeria votes against the United States 74% of the time.

Oman votes against the United States 74% of the time.

Lebanon votes against the United States 80% of the time..

India votes against the United States 81% of the time..

Syria votes against the United States 84% of the time.

Mauritania votes against the United States 87% of the time.

U S Foreign Aid to those that hate the US :

Egypt, for example, after voting 79% of the time against the United States , still receives $2 billion annually in US Foreign Aid.

Jordan votes 71% against the United States

And receives $192,814,000 annually in US Foreign Aid..

Pakistan votes 75% against the United States

Receives $6,721,000 annually in US Foreign Aid.

India votes 81% against the United States

Receives $143,699,000 annually.

Perhaps it is time to get out of the UN and give the tax savings back to the American workers who are having to skimp and sacrifice to pay the taxes (and gasoline).

Pass this along to every taxpaying citizen you know.
Disgusting isn't it?

This is what is making the rounds on email threads

I'm tired of uninformed, bigoted, bullshit believing, selfish, hateful, get off my lawn people who have no idea the damage they do complaining about many things they know little about except for what they see on TV. This guy proudly displays his sphincter to the world with almost a headline of look at the brown spot.

I checked on and it is correct to attribute it to him...

Subject: I'm tired At 63 (This is excellent)

OH and by the way, he has a prosthetic leg and is a Marine Corps Vietnam Vet

Robert A. Hall is the actor who plays the coroner on CSI if you watch that show.

This should be required reading for every man, woman and child in the United States of America .

"I'm 63 and I'm Tired"
by Robert A. Hall

I'm 63. Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce and a six-month period when I was between jobs but job-hunting every day, I've worked hard since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven't called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there's no retirement in sight, and I'm tired. Very tired.

I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it.
I wasn't aware you could buy a brush that big.

I'm tired of being told that I have to pay more taxes to "keep people in their homes." Sure, if they lost their jobs or got sick, I'm willing to help. But if they bought McMansions at three times the price of our paid-off, $250,000 condo, on one-third of my salary, then let the left-wing Congress-critters who passed Fannie and Freddie and the Community Reinvestment Act that created the bubble help them with their own money. Still blaming that niggar lovin' guy from Georgia.

I'm tired of being told how bad America is by left-wing millionaires like Michael Moore, George Soros and Hollywood Entertainers who live in luxury because of the opportunities America offers. In thirty years, if they get their way, the United States will have the economy of Zimbabwe , the freedom of the press of China , the crime and violence of Mexico , the tolerance for Christian people of Iran , and the freedom of speech of Venezuela . Yeah, it's all George's and Michaels fault.WTF

I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to. He sees people with dark skin as not like him? Ya think!

I'm tired of being told that "race doesn't matter" in the post-racial world of Obama, when it's all that matters in affirmative action jobs, lower college admission and graduation standards for minorities (harming them the most), government contract set-asides, tolerance for the ghetto culture of violence and fatherless children that hurts minorities more than anyone, and in the appointment of U. S. Senators from Illinois. He don't like the blacks either!

I think it's very cool that we have a black president and that a black child is doing her homework at the desk where Lincoln wrote the Emancipation Proclamation. I just wish the black president was Condi Rice, or someone who believes more in freedom and the individual and less arrogantly of an all-knowing government. Hey? He hearts him a niggar Republican, I wonder what his opinion is of a Teh gay Republicans is

I'm tired of a news media that thinks Bush's fundraising and inaugural expenses were obscene, but that think Obama's, at triple the cost, were wonderful; that thinks Bush exercising daily was a waste of presidential time, but Obama exercising is a great example for the public to control weight and stress; that picked over every line of Bush's military records, but never demanded that Kerry release his; that slammed Palin, with two years as governor, for being too inexperienced for VP, but touted Obama with three years as senator as potentially the best president ever.. Wonder why people are dropping their subscriptions or switching to Fox News? Get a clue. I didn't vote for Bush in 2000, but the media and Kerry drove me to his camp in 2004. Just to much to comment on, talk amongst yourselves.

I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and mandrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America , while no American group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia to teach love and tolerance. Nailed that one.

I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate. My wife and I live in a two-bedroom apartment and carpool together five miles to our jobs. We also own a three-bedroom condo where our daughter and granddaughter live. Our carbon footprint is about 5% of Al Gore's, and if you're greener than Gore, you're green enough. Yeah, cause he is that top of the list when it comes to carbon polluters and Al Gore is fat.

I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off? I don't think Gay people choose to be Gay, but I damn sure think druggies chose to take drugs. And I'm tired of harassment from cool people treating me like a freak when I tell them I never tried marijuana.
The beat goes on!!!

I'm tired of illegal aliens being called "undocumented workers," especially the ones who aren't working, but are living on welfare or crime. What's next? Calling drug dealers, "Undocumented Pharmacists"? And, no, I'm not against Hispanics. Most of them are Catholic, and it's been a few hundred years since Catholics wanted to kill me for my religion. I'm willing to fast track for citizenship any Hispanic person, who can speak English, doesn't have a criminal record and who is self-supporting without family on welfare, or who serves honorably for three years in our military. Those are the citizens we need.. His religion is not Catholic and I am not aware of a 3 years stint in any military service and I'm glad he's Ok with what will happen when 90% of illegals show up for the fast tracking.

I'm tired of latte liberals and journalists, who would never wear the uniform of the Republic themselves, or let their entitlement-handicapped kids near a recruiting station, trashing our military. They and their kids can sit at home, never having to make split-second decisions under life and death circumstances, and bad mouth better people than themselves.. Do bad things happen in war? You bet. Do our troops sometimes misbehave? Sure. Does this compare with the atrocities that were the policy of our enemies for the last fifty years and still are? Not even close. So here's the deal. I'll let myself be subjected to all the humiliation and abuse that was heaped on terrorists at Abu Ghraib or Gitmo, and the critics can let themselves be subject to captivity by the Muslims, who tortured and beheaded Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, or the Muslims who tortured and murdered Marine Lt. Col. William Higgins in Lebanon, or the Muslims who ran the blood-spattered Al Qaeda torture rooms our troops found in Iraq, or the Muslims who cut off the heads of schoolgirls in Indonesia, because the girls were Christian. Then we'll compare notes. British and American soldiers are the only troops in history that civilians came to for help and handouts, instead of hiding from in fear. Man twisted logic is well and prospering in the mind of this fellow.

I'm tired of people telling me that their party has a corner on virtue and the other party has a corner on corruption. Read the papers; bums are bipartisan. And I'm tired of people telling me we need bipartisanship. I live in Illinois, where the "Illinois Combine" of Democrats has worked to loot the public for years. Not to mention the tax cheats in Obama's cabinet. So it's his way or the highway and it's all the niggars fault that Chicago has a reputation for hard ball politics.

I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of both parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor. Entitlement? So if this email was to go viral in the innertubes what would be your response. Would you aploligize to save your job?

Speaking of poor, I'm tiredof hearing people with air-conditioned homes, color TVs and two cars called poor. The majority of Americans didn't have that in 1970, but we didn't know we were "poor." The poverty pimps have to keep changing the definition of poor to keep the dollars flowing. Poverty Pimps? and as far as I know color TV's became popular in the early 70's and back then a one income household paid the bills and since Mom had to go to work to pay the bills in the 80's and since they require having 2 cars asshat.

I'm real tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems. Mirror, mirror on the wall who's the biggest asshat of the year.

Yes, I'm damn tired. But I'm also glad to be 63. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my granddaughter. These people?? It's not me!

Robert A.Hall is a Marine Vietnam veteran who served five terms in the Massachusetts State Senate.

There is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on! This is your chance to make a difference. in proving that some asshole who is so afraid of people not like him takes the time to use his celebrity to display his prejudice and hate.

I often forget how great he is, Coe's a classic

David Allen Coe

Now this one, I wish that Democrats had the desire to win like Dale did. Think back, I don't know if you folks watched alot of NASCAR in the 90's, but I did and this man would do whatever had to be done to win and there is a photo in the video [about 2:19] that shows his eyes focused on something and holy cow I can just tell you that whoever he was looking at paid a price for that stare. He was focused and his desire to win is something that NASCAR wishes they could bottle.

Fracking Under The Radar Of National News

New York City has had a watershed in the Catskills for more than a hundred years and they just bought more land to increase it, why?

Excuse the format. I use Firefox so I don't get to view it the way you Windows people do.

So while we obsess about a community center and the anniversary of New Orleans these guys have moved on to rape another portion of "our" planet while we worry about Tiger Woods golf score or maybe Linsday Lohan.

So why does New York need to buy more land to add to the watershed for New York City, maybe it just somebody doing some fracking.

The Republicans only want to use the issue for a few weeks to energize their base and be leaving this issue just like the last, Mexicans, and go and find another group of Americans to vilify and make you very afraid of. It's what they do. The way I see it come December if the Muslims want to actually build a Mosque at the site of the World Trade Center we won't hear a peep from 'em. This man continues to govern, despite having more hateful, bigoted, and demeaning opinions thrown his way. Just imagine the roadblocks to governing he has put up with and he continues to soldier on doing what he was elected to do. Moving the country out of a mess that was brought on by the last guy to live in the White House and he has to deal with the same people in Congress that signed off on everything the last guy did.

In the end this is what matters, every time he signs he takes us further away from the reign of Bush and all it brought us.

Preserving America's Largest Park

Most people don't know that the largest "park" in America is the Adirondack Park. It takes people like this to keep it healthy and vibrant.

We would also appreciate anyone who would like to move their business here and employ a few of us Adirondackers. Yes we do have areas set up for business development, not many but we do have them.We could use the money, it is tough living inside the blue line and earning a living wage.

Where I work is celebrating 100 years in business today and I grabbed some pics of the cars and thought a few of you would enjoy seeing what was there, sorry but it was busy and I didn't get the years and other info but I am going to give a prize to the person who can identify the most.

Dennis Egglefield’s once-in-a-century party

Automotive News -- July 23, 2010

Business is brisk, but Dennis Egglefield is spending little time on the floor these days at the family Ford dealership in Elizabethtown, N.Y. He’s planning a party.

A big party. A once-in-a-lifetime party.

Aug. 1 is the 100th anniversary of Egglefield Ford, a full century since great-grandpa Wilbur first opened up shop at the foot of the Adirondack Mountains.

So a week from Sunday, Dennis -- the fourth generation of the Egglefield clan to run the business -- and fifth-generation sons Cory and Kent will play host.

We’re talking an all-day event in a hamlet of 1,100: potato salad, barbecue, a big display behind the dealership and in nearby parks, some visiting Ford corporate brass -- and a parade of about 200 vintage Fords.

Party town

The whole town’s invited. Most will come. When Dennis throws a party in a burg the size of E-town, as the locals call it, you either leave town before it starts or fill your plate and relax, because the streets will be jammed.

Last August, Egglefield drew 130 cars and their crews to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Ford Mustang -- that number doesn’t count the several Mustangs he owns.

“We discovered a single parade that big just doesn’t fit on the local streets,” Egglefield recalls. “So this year, I think I’ll run little parades about 20 cars at a time all day long.”

I’m with the Egglefields on this one. It is time to celebrate.

Century-old dealerships are rare. Ford Motor Co. says it has only seven dealerships older.

Dealerships that stay in the same family through a hundred years and five generations are rarer yet.

Sideline business

The Egglefields are a determined bunch, but even they have been challenged to keep together what Wilbur took on as a sideline to his carpentry business. How did he get the franchise? In 1910, Ford offered it to Wilbur after he picked up a third car kit (one for himself and two others for friends) at the railhead in Westport, assembled it and drove it home.

Wilbur passed the business on to sons Spencer and Harrison. Spencer Jr. and brother Lew were the third generation, the one that kept the business going despite the biggest hurdles: first Spencer Jr. survived crashing his Marine fighter plane on a Pacific island in World War II; then the dealership Wilbur hand-built burned down in 1971.

Dennis took over from dad Spencer Jr. But even he figures the business wouldn’t have made it in 2003 if he hadn’t purchased a second Ford franchise in Ray Brook, just the other side of Lake Placid. The combined sales and service of both shops give the Egglefields the critical mass to keep the business profitable.

The Egglefield story is one of building, surviving, rebuilding, reinvesting, taking risks and making them work. The Egglefields do pretty much the same things that other dealers do, as Dennis would readily acknowledge. They just have been doing it longer than most.

Finding old Fords

I talk with Dennis from time to time. He’s a thoughtful man, always happy to talk business. I know the fun he gets from the business, his pride in his family, his passion for go-fast vintage Mustangs.

But last week Dennis was preoccupied with finding old Fords, particularly 1910-13 Model T’s. His original goal -- to parade a Ford matched to each of the 100 years the dealership has operated -- is threatened by scarcity, frailty and distance. When you’re halfway between Albany and Montreal and the “big city” 90 miles away is Burlington, Vt., you’re not really close to much.

“We’ve got Fords coming from all over the Northeast,” he said. “But pre-’15s are really hard to find.”

So hey, you got an early Model T Ford and a hankering to party in the Adirondacks, call the Egglefields at 518-873-6551. Fill in a blank year, and I’ll bet Dennis would personally barbecue you a big burger.
