This is the second part of Bill Moyers Journal and probably the most prescient. When people go into the medical field to get rich is what has changed our country from one that is democratic and filled with people caring for one another on a very gut level and framed with complete honesty that not all of us are going to live a long life. We are complicated organisms and sometimes all of the cells and genes just do not align. We have been sold on the idea that our health care system can solve any problem it is presented with and this is just not so. Just like going out and buying a new golf club that is going to lower your score, it is just "selling the dream". Stuff happens and we have been led to the point of immaturity when it comes to dealing with death issues and after the "dream bubble" bursts we are left with the realites of life. Then we sue and blame others for what is really natures way. America needs to grow up and realize that we are extremly falible organisms fraught with all of the faults that occur in natures wild kingdom every second.

The Raptor Arrived Today

2010 Ford SVT Raptor is a special purpose off road truck that in near stock form placed 3rd in this years Baja 1000. Ford made a decision last fall to continue developing all of the vehicles in the pipeline, economy be damned and was willing to bet the farm on success.

Let's discuss a year from now Barack's and Mullaleys decisions to bet the farm and stop the entities they are charged with from driving over the cliff they inherited from their predecessors.

I don't know if success is in the cards, yet I'm optimistic.

Has Anyone Seen Sarah?

I've said it many times over the past several months and I'll say it again. Barack is going to outlast all of the nuts and talking heads we are currently focused on, who themselves are focused on reaching out and grasping the baton of single payer out the hands of our President.

These folks in the White House understand how DC works and have learned by past missteps that if you can get past 8 or 10 or maybe 16 news cycles and time it right the crazies loose interest and their focus wanes.

Turning the corner towards single payer will occur when the opposition tires.

We just need to outlast and outrun them.

It can be done. "keep hope alive".

Look! It has been only 8 months since Barack [why does blogger still tell you that you are misspelling his name] has been president and those that disagree with him have not evoked one rational reason as to why he is wrong in his reasoning and decisions.

What they have offered are lies, irrationality and fear.

Not really pertinent to guiding a country through good times or bad.

As I see the (R)'s, they are painting themselves into a corner of both logic and reason. Which unless they manage to bust a hole in the wall of reason will be beaten by their own statements and misguided judgment.

Here's the deal. I am looking for 25,000,000 investors to ante up $100 a month over the next twelve months and use our $30,000,000,000 [billion] to buy as many insurance companies as we can. I'm thinkin' that after a few years we will dominate the insurance industry and then we can take these companies private after a few more years, get our money back [with interest] and then make them non profits.

What Ever Happened To This?

When doctors became more interested in the search for cash instead of the sick they sold their souls to the devil of corporate health care.

Let's Go See If We Have A Cheaper Model

Look, I sell cars for a living and there is a technique used throughout the car sales industry called, "go out there and take the car away from them", and it works.

You have a customer who is not sure if she/he has made their best deal asking for more and and unsure of exactly what to do, buy or walk. They just spent maybe an hour and a half selecting, driving, having the trade appraised,negotiating over the trade and trying to lower price of the new car, and are growing tired of the process. So they make one last ridiculous offer to test the waters and get the sales manager to, "fish or cut bait".

The salesperson goes to the sales manager and presents some ridiculous offer that gets laughed at and is told to go back to his desk and say...

"Maybe we should move to a less expensive car to lower the purchase price."

The customer only has two choices. Weigh going back out onto the lot and selecting and driving another car or staying focused on the original car.

So they leave the air conditioned showroom and walk out onto the lot and pick out their second choice and drive it, listen to the sales pitch all over again, and all the time thinking about the more expensive model that meets their needs and has now how increased in value compared to the cheaper model.

Original choice of car wins 80% of the time.

Works more often than not.

What Barack is doing is the same thing. We as voters picked the one with power windows and door locks, cruise control, Navigation System, all wheel drive,leather heated seats and the most powerful motor.

So we as voter have invested much time and effort in acquiring this ________________? [pick a car company ] car and and now he as the best evah salesman he is is taking it away and wants us to go back out onto the lot and select and think about an alternative model.

Frankly I'm sticking with my first choice. Somehow he'll find the money [votes] to pay for it.

Rupert Steals National Enquirer

Glenn Beck, O'Rielly, Fox & Freinds. The list goes on are nothing more than a teevee version of the National Enquirer. Something you peruse at the checkout at the grocery store and sometimes you buy it for a curious headline. You get home and open it up to the story referenced in the headline and find out its total crap and not worth the $1.50 Price Chopper or Buy-Low charged you.

I think that the sooner we reach a point where we view these shows as electronic, instead of paper vehicles with which their sole purpose is to sell advertising the better off we as a country will be.

Rupert's no dummy. If he knows one thing, it's how to make a dollar.

Red Bus Drives Off Cliff

When this whole summer of misplaced malcontent is over and we make the trek, in November 2010, to the bottom of the cliff that these Republicans drove off of and count the dead political bodies sacrificed in their march to placate those that put the trail of dollars out in front of the bus to guide and lead them we will no doubt wonder just why they did it.

And those they left behind will mourn their deaths and blame?

You? Me? Anybody but themselves.

Second Shoe Hits Floor! Makes No Sound!

Perhaps Sarah Palin made that ridiculous statement about "Obama Death Panels" because she knew this story was going to break -- it was happening in her own state, right under her nose:

State programs intended to help disabled and elderly Alaskans with daily life -- taking a bath, eating dinner, getting to the bathroom -- are so poorly managed, the state cannot assure the health and well-being of the people they are supposed to serve, a new federal review found.

The situation is so bad the federal government has forbidden the state to sign up new people until the state makes necessary improvements. No other state in the nation is under such a moratorium, according to a spokeswoman for the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

In the meantime, frail and vulnerable Alaskans who desperately need the help are struggling. One elderly woman is stuck in a nursing home, for lack of care at home. Another woman, suffering from chronic pain and fatigue, said she's so weak, she often can't even pop dinner into the microwave.

This is the GOP's alternative to a public or universal option. Sarah wants to talk about evil socialist plans that will kill people, but I betcha she doesn't want to talk about the hundreds of Alaskans who died waiting for these services.

A particularly alarming finding concerns deaths of adults in the programs. In one 2 1/2 year stretch, 227 adults already getting services died while waiting for a nurse to reassess their needs. Another 27 died waiting for their initial assessment, to see if they qualified for help. Read on...

In honor of the people of Alaska who died on her watch, Sarah Palin needs to stop makin' stuff up about health care reform, and apologize for screwing things up and then running away when the going got tough.

Look, we all voted for him because we saw someone who spoke truth to power and was honest with us. It is well documented that becoming president requires you to put on a straight jacket that inhibits one's ability to be completely truthful with the public. Certain things are held close to the chest to prevent others from seeing your cards so they can't go out and buy a deck of cards and select whatever cards from said deck to beat your hand. that is how the game is played in Washington, D.C..

So what Barack has done is he knows he hold 4 aces and his opponents can go out and purchase all of the cards they want, 4 aces is 4 aces. Oh! I'll add that he holds 4 blue cards, the original color dealt.

Here he is in Virginia and he getting ready to lay down his cards and when he gets done with these birthers, teabaggers, no gubmint health care folks, well he's going to "chop them off at the knees so fast they will believe they were born short". To quote an Illinois legislator.

You know that we operate inside a small group of folks who are watching and commenting on the items we read and view here on the 'nets. Well, you will be relieved to know that the majority of our countrymen have tuned out to all of the birther, health care screamer stuff and are very busy taking care of family and their jobs.

The (r)'s are starting to operate in a vacuum.

The majority of Americans watch Fox news while waiting to get a car registration at DMV with the sound off waiting for the next big car chase and if a pertinent fact hit them in the head at the speed of light they would never notice.

Barack will ef'n handle it.

I truelly believe in "Hope and Change" and don't lose sight of what we voted for last fall.

Anybody attending a town hall meeting where they suspect these "I don't need no Gubmint health care and Barack was born somewhere else" fools should bring one of these bad boys with them and display how foolish and immature these people are acting. Frankly, I'd bring 20 just in case. You want meaningless noise. I got plenty! "bring it on".

Money spent is better than tax cuts because along the way it gets taxed and provides OUR government the money it needs to operate. Not really a tough concept to get your head around. Unless you are shilling for those that already have enough cash in the bank. Very simple.
